Where it began
Long before there was a studio, there was a tanpura, a canopy, and a room full of people who had turned up to listen.
Veena Sonkar grew up in Indian classical music — daily riyaaz, unhurried alaaps, ragas lived in rather than performed. That grounding is why Antraalaap is called what it is.
Today she writes, composes and sings bhajans, folk songs and original music, and works as an actor and producer. Her channel, Soveena, is where those recordings live. Antraalaap is the room she once needed — where an artist is trusted and a good voice is given something to sing.
